Created in 1923, the French Cycle-touring Federation is the first cycle touring federation on the territory. With a delegation from the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Tourism, it aims to develop cycle touring in France and cycling as a sport for everyone.
The Federation organizes 4,500 journeys in France and abroad, which attract more than 2 million participants each year. Its 3,100 clubs and 400 schools and youth friendly facilities welcome, advise and train beginners and experienced people of all ages all over France. It brings together 127,000 licence holders spread in bicycle touring clubs which offer various activities for road cycling and mountain biking, from cycling tours to biking holidays.
Like in 2016, the Concours de Machines will take place in Ambert during the Cyclo Les Copains-Cyfac. 2017 will be the 30th birthday of the event. This famous sportive will offer many different routes, from the 3 days randonnée to the Sunday race, but also a time trial in the col du Béal and a gravel bike track. The region is ideal for cycling, and the weekend of 30 June, 1 and 2 July is the perfect occasion to discover it.
