Concours de Machines 2017

I was an other era. It was an incredible era. A good level cyclist did not buy in a shop a bicycle made on the other side of the world : he asked to a framebuilder to create it ! It was in the prewar years, and after. Today, after a long break, the framebuilders are back, full of fresh ideas.

After his re-birth in 2016, that gathered 18 French builders, the second edition of the Concours de Machines of the modern era will take place on the 30th of June, the 1st and the 2nd of July 2017 in Ambert, Auvergne, France. This year, no less than 30 builders of handcrafted bicycles will be present. For this edition, they will come from all over the world, to highlight the best the work of each participant : Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, but also Japan or the USA.

The Concours de Machines is not a race, but a technical trial. Each competitor will present a bicycle thought, designed and made according to a them, the light randonneur bike. Two trial of about 200K, mixing roads and paths, will put to the test the machine and their reliability. The quality of the fabrication, the weight or the level of inovation will be evaluated by an international judge panel mae of historians, builders, industrial and technical experts.

Rendez-vous on the 30th of June to the 2nd of July 2017 to discover the best of the handcrafted bicycles production !
